Day 9 - Performance at Rusty Rudder
Rehoboth, August 8, 2003

Well I assume you guys are still walking about six feet off of the ground. What an incredible evening!

Here are some brief observations from me:

  1. Colleen and Amanda did a fantastic job. The evening would not have gone as well without their assistance. I couldn't imagine doing it without their help. I shudder to think what the camp would be like with Colleen's advice and counsel.
  2. I got great comments from people in the crowd after you all left. Drake and Dan were singled out as being outstanding vocalists. "You had some good singers this year."
  3. Kevin was awesome - he played about as flawlessly as he could play.
  4. Nicole was really on. She sang great and really kicked you know what on the organ on Last Night
  5. A lot, and I mean almost everyone that came up to me, said that you guys were as good or better than most of the opening bands they get there.
  6. All of the drummers came through - this was the best year for drummers that we've ever had.
  7. I like the way you all poured on the stage at the end. That was unrehearsed and it was a perfect ending to a great show.
  8. Was I right about Margaritaville? It was just what the middle of the set needed. That was the best performance we did - better than rehearsal. Amanda made a nice debut on bass and Jack kept it moving. Over all great.
  9. There were no major catastrophes or messed up songs. You guys gave 110%, just like I knew you would.
  10. There's more to mention like horns etc. but the bottom line is that we knocked 'em dead
